Call for Abstracts

Conference Awards.

The 23rd International Clean and Environment conference, will present 4 types of awards in the following categories, acknowledging both oral and poster presentations:

– Emerging Air Quality Professional Achievers Award (formally Young Achievers Award)
– Innovative Presentation Award
– CASANZ 2017 Best Paper Award
– CASANZ 2017 Best Poster Award

Winners of the awards will be considered to have presented an original scientific or technical study investigating a novel application or an innovative research approach, of a standard suitable for publication at an international level.

The 2017 Conference Awards will be presented as part of the Closing Address, with winners receiving recognition in the December edition of the Air Quality and Climate Change journal.

Awards Criteria

Call for Abstracts are now closed.

If you are accepted to present at the conference you are required to submit a 2-page extended abstract, or full paper.

The Program Committee seek abstracts that reflect the conference theme, The Critical Atmosphere and which address the conference sub-themes outlined below:

Critical atmospheric science

  • Atmospheric physics and meteorology
  • Atmospheric chemistry
  • New instruments and measurement techniques (including low-cost monitors)
  • Monitoring networks

Modelling and assessment

  • Local and regional air quality modelling
  • Emissions assessment and modelling
  • Source apportionment
  • Long-range transport and global redistribution
  • Long-term emissions and climatic forecasting

Critical air quality effects

  • Exposure and health effects (urban, indoor and rural environments)
  • Food supplies, ecosystem services and biodiversity
  • Land and vegetation management for environmental amelioration
  • Nuisance (odour, dust)

Regulation, policies, compliance frameworks

  • Industrial, minerals, oil and gas operations
  • Distributed sources, including agriculture, biomass burning, wildfires
  • Policy instruments, their application and effectiveness
  • Regional and international collaboration: Successes and challenges

Important Dates

Abstract submission opens: Thursday, 20 October 2016
Deadline for submission of abstracts: Sunday, 9 April 2017
Authors advised of abstract acceptance: June 2017
Speaker registration deadline: Friday, 30 June 2017
Deadline for submission of full papers or 2-page extended abstracts: Monday, 14 August 2017
